Producer, performer, and poet, Improv is on a relentless quest to capture the hearts and minds of music lovers with his universal message of love, compassion, and social awareness. With a combination of intricate, perceptive lyrics; crowd-moving stage performances; and masterfully crafted production he is well on his way.

Improv simultaneously threatens music industry stereotypes while remaining true to the essence of Hip Hop. His musical influences range from Common to Rage Against the Machine, Miles Davis to Jimmy Hendrix. He has performed on stage with Zion I, Pep Love, Liquid Junkies, Crown City Rockers, Murs, and
Souls of Mischief, to name a few.

In August of 2006, Improv left his stomping grounds of Fort Collins, Colorado, where he had spent three years, releasing two underground albums as an emcee and two more instrumental albums as a producer, and headed for the city of Denver.

In October of 2006, two months after moving to Denver, Improv released his Grace EP, an emotionally inspired collection of music that seemed to convey a message that was both personal and universal. If Improv (2003) had been his debut album, his coming-out party; and Unknown Object (2004) was the album in which really found his voice, the album that put him on the map; then the Grace EP (2006) was the album that told world he wasn’t going anywhere, and that he was only getting better.

In January of 2007, Improv, along with his partners Rex “Fluxx” Vining and Adam Kawamoto, founded One Neighborhood Entertainment LLC, an independent music label. Improv spent the next several months playing shows, helping with the label, working on new material, and engrossing himself in several outside production projects with other underground acts. The goal was to focus his artistic voice, while simultaneously expanding his production palette. And it worked. Because Improv was working with, and continues to work with, such a wide array of artists, with such a variety of sounds, his production benefitted. As he calls it, he was, “learning to paint with new colors.”

By August of 2007 Improv was standing on the Oak Street Stage at the Third Annual Bohemian Nights at New West Fest, the outdoor music festival held every August in Fort Collins, Colorado. This was one of the largest collections of Colorado musicians in Downtown Fort Collins ever. This was the city in which Improv had spent three years of his life developing as an
artist. It had been one year since he left this city. It was an honor. Needless to say. he rocked it.

Improv’s sound continues to evolve and he is hard at work on material for a new album, which he plans to release as the first project under the One Neighborhood Entertainment label. The tentative release date is some time Spring/Summer of 2008. In the meantime, he’ll be performing heavily, and will continue expanding his production prowess by producing for, and
learning from, other artists.
