A transfixing three piece from Boulder, The Quills use melodic arrangements and insightful lyrics. The music is sonic, catchy, and playful. The sound is complete, sculpted carefully into gestures and colors, yet customized for every audience.

Tyler Bender on drums is articulate with a cymbal but not unlike a certain Muppet in a frenetic flurry; Ben Egner on bass provides relentless rhythm interspersed with call-and-response, bungee-chord-like expressions, displaying frequent lightning leg kicks; Quinn Alison is an animated front man who grins at a harmony and snarls with a guitar, keeping one ear out for the sigh of an analog synth.

Their performance is meticulous and rambunctious, melodic and desulotry.

But what nice guys they are, too.
